Yesterday, Monday the 26 of July 2010, facebook proved its Social Media dominance.
Ford launched its 2011 Explorer SUV on facebook and NOT at a car show.
Of course other Social networks such as Twitter were also involved but the launch of this SUV was centred on facebook.
facebook marketing is now set to challenge Google because it provides much greater details about a person and it is cheaper to use.
Others will try to copy facebook but having crossed the 500 million mark, momentum is now making facebook a priority for all marketing missions.
This is a great show of embedded social marketing, facebook “like” graphics were spread throughout the media. This is a great show of contemporary marketing from a team using all the latest technology.
I would not be surprised if this launch made its way into marketing text books.
